2026-2027 ANNUAL GRANT

Announcing the launch of our first annual "Stories from the Edge" GRANT opportunity! Open to playwrights, authors, composers, songwriters, and theatrical creators accessible to the DMV, this initiative is designed to support the development of new artistic work.

The selected artist will receive a $500 grant award and the opportunity to have their work produced as part of Capital Edge Theater's 2027 "Stories from the Edge" Series.

If you've been waiting for a reason to finish that script, write that score, or bring a new idea to life, we'd love to hear from you.

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: ​

  • Applicants must be comfortable supporting a potential production local to MD/VA/DC.

  • Submissions must directly respond to the selected prompt.

  • Original scripts, scores, and other theatrical works are welcome. All submissions must be the applicant's own original work.

  • There is no minimum or maximum length requirement. We are seeking compelling ideas and strong artistic potential rather than a specific page count.

  • Works do not need to be fully completed. This program is intended to support artists in the development, refinement, and completion of new projects through collaboration and feedback.
