AUDITIONS at the EDGE
Our audition process is designed to be welcoming, transparent, and respectful of the artist.
These auditions are an exciting step in building a collaborative, artist-driven theatre community rooted in Fort Washington.
Details on materials, sign-ups, and expectations are available below.
We look forward to meeting the performers who will help bring Capital Edge Theater’s inaugural season to life!

"Midnight Radio"
September 19th, 7:30pm.
Indian Head Center for Performing Arts-
Black Box Theater.
Capital Edge Theater is seeking performers for "Midnight Radio", an original, imaginative journey through one DJ’s late-night shift, where the line between reality and imagination begins to disappear. We’re looking for the singers, actors, dancers, storytellers, and creative characters to help us bring this broadcast to life. Think "Night at the Museum" meets late-night community radio broadcast.
What would YOU put on the air?
This is your chance to audition with that song you’ve always wanted to perform, the monologue or scene work you’ve been waiting to share, or the personality you’ve been hoping to introduce to an audience.
When the DJ drops the needle on each number, what steps out of the static and into the spotlight?
Because on Midnight Radio, anything might happen. Stay tuned…
This is part of our "Stories from the Edge" series, where we aim to provide accessible theater experiences for busy professionals and family caregivers who can't necessarily commit to a 3-month rehearsal schedule but are looking for ways to include theater and artistic camaraderie in their lives. Behind the scenes volunteers also welcomed!

What to Prepare:
Please prepare a selection that you could imagine hearing on a quirky, community radio station during the overnight hours. It can be traditional or unusual, sung or spoken. Storytelling and characters to be 'interviewed' on air or ideas for commercials and sponsors are invited to apply as well. The materials brought to these auditions are the materials we will use to build the DJ's experience that night. You're part of the development!
This production will be 'Night at the Museum" energy, where the songs, stories, and characters themselves are highlighted through dynamic interpretation and imaginative staging that may or may not include the primary performer. If you have ideas for how you could imagine your selection coming to life, we would also love to brainstorm with you on how to make that vision happen on stage.
Time:
5-7 minutes total. Please come prepared to start promptly at your assigned time.
